DECORATE IN COLOR FOR THE HOLIDAYS!
Venture away from traditional Christmas design schemes! Bring a refreshing new creativity to the holidays with pops of color! My hubby and I recently jumped the broom & it’s been hard to part from the wedding colors we grew so attached to during the planning process. Since it’s our first Christmas together we incorporated the purple scheme into our holiday decorating! The best part, we totally stayed on BUDGET! This is very important for Newlyweds!
How we did it!
1) Decide on a color scheme and buy decorations!
We purchased all our Christmas tree designs at the 99 Cent store. We couldn’t believe the HUGE selection they had in ALL colors!
2) Get a tree pronto! (Real or Artificial)
Pick a color, green, white, blue, red…whatever works for your.
We went with a green, pre-lit artificial tree from Target. Couldn’t be happier with it! (Alberta 6ft pre-lit tree on sale for $48)
3) Add the Garland to tree before all other decorations!
You can wrap the garland around the tree or add it vertically. Play with styles or google them if you aren’t sure which design to go with.
4) Add Decorations
We start with larger decorations toward the bottom and use smaller ones as we get to the top to balance the look of tree.
5) Add tree skirt around bottom of tree or use artificial snow to create a winter wonderland effect.
We used Buffalo Snow from Michael’s Craft Store. You can layer it, peel it apart or make it as thick or thin a you like. The possibilities are really endless!
ALL DONE!
Your tree should look great at this point & full of your personal creativity!
Here is a look at our finished product as well as some other decorations we did around the house…
WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!
