As a home decor blog, MyEye4DIY.com is an informative and helpful resource that inspires women to decorate the home of their DREAMS in a cost-effective way! I want to help YOU think like a designer without being one and teach you how to do projects yourself! Need to redo that drab and dark living room? I’ve got tutorials for you! Looking for some easy kid-friendly DIYs? I’ve got you covered! Wanna just try something new? You’re in the right place!
Through written and video tutorials, I’m here to help you create a space that is all your own, using things you already own and give you budget-friendly hacks that won’t break the bank. I love transforming living spaces through creative design work…one project at a time! As an interior DIYer, I focus on teaching contemporary, budget friendly DIY home design tutorials, creative home decor makeovers and DIY kids decor projects for new or seasoned DIY audience members alike. Event decorating is also my jam, so you’ll find DIY’s for that as well! I have been a student of “Trail and Error” for many years now and mastered the process of “Figuring it out” and ‘Starting from Scratch’! Now, I’m pouring all these learned skills into my blog, making my DIYs and tutorials easy for everyone.
My mantra is “DIY brings people, places, and spaces together!” I enjoy sharing my passion for decorating, collaborating with other craft-minded individuals, and enabling your creative process through inventive, budget-conscious methods! Let’s create together and maybe have some help from our little ones too!
Who Is Kalia?
I’m just an East Coast gal who grew up in a creative resourceful and crafty family which inspired me to start crafting as a child. My mom exposed me to the arts and showed me how to make any place look like a million bucks while spending little to no money. I have fond memories of her DIYing our apartment into a beautiful home with her budget-friendly projects and furniture rehabs. So I’ve learned a thing or two about being thrifty and doing things on a budget!
After college, I moved to Los Angeles and began a career in film & television. I eventually returned to my DIY roots when I started doing room makeovers for friends and received a lot of positive feedback. From there, all the skills I learned turned into the birth of my blog. I created MyEye4DIY.com so others could journey with me through tutorials covering an assortment of home decor related projects. I also started MyEye4DIY Workshops to create a hands-on experience that shows people, just like you, a practical way to get started and inspired!
All of a sudden, life got really busy! A friend magically introduced me to my
incredible husband and then two fantastic little girls followed! Since their arrival, I have naturally become passionate about sharing kid-friendly content because I had to create with them in mind. Having children doesn’t mean your creativity stops or the way you can joyfully decorate your home. I’m here to help you design a functional home keeping you and your children in mind.
Looking back at what was just a hobby as a kid has turned into professional work and collaborations with other like minded creative professionals. I am currently a featured DIY expert for several publications. With more than 10 years of experience as a Do-It-Yourself Expert, my goal is to show you that anyone (Yes! Even YOU!) can create beautiful, home decor with your own two hands.
As I start each project and workshop my approach is “THERE ARE NO RULES! JUST GUIDELINES”. I hope you will adopt this approach and become empowered to create a home you LOVE (on a budget of course!)!!
